Personal
I am married to the former Anne Jarvis, and have three children, Robert, Margaux and
Chelsea. I enjoy traveling, genealogy, trading stocks, photography, painting,
reading and writing.
After living most of my life in Michigan, my family and I embarked on a great adventure,
by moving to Hawaii. After vacationing there for several years in a row, we decided that
the time was right, my daughters were young and my son was finishing high school in
Michigan and living with his mother. We didn't know anyone, but we knew that we wanted a
change. Anne works for United Airlines and was able to transfer, and not long after
arriving, I was able to land a job with the city.
We enjoyed our six years in "paradise." We lived near Diamond Head, and spent
many evenings at the beach watching the most beautiful sunsets imaginable. The weekends
meant snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, or trips to the North Shore of Oahu, to watch the surfers
at the Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach, or Waimea Bay.
It was a good time for us, but we eventually found that 84 and sunny every day, can get a
little old after awhile. Also we travel a lot. Anne was born in England and came to the
United States when she was seven. We go to Britain every year to visit relatives and the
flight from Hawaii was very long and exhausting.
Adding to our desire to return to the mainland was the fact that Margaux and Chelsea were
anxious to get back to "the seasons." They missed the fall and winter and were
anxious to get back to building snowmen instead of sand castles.
We turned our attention to Colorado. We have friends who live in Vail, and Denver is a
great city. We soon learned that we had moved from one paradise to another. The
sunshine, high blue skies, and friendly people of Colorado have made us feel right at
home. We love it here.
